Guzmán M. Carriquiry Lecour
Born in Montevideo on April 20, 1944, holds a Doctorate in Law and Social Sciences (University of Montevideo), is married to Lídice M. Gómez Mango, and worked for 48 years at the Holy See in the service of five pontificates. He was appointed Undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and Secretary in charge of the Vice Presidency of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America. In 2020, he was appointed Ambassador of Uruguay to the Holy See, serving until March 2025. He has taught courses, seminars, and lectures at numerous universities in different countries and has an extensive body of published work.
